Established in 1920, Tong Sheng Xiang is a Chinese time-honored cuisine brand, a national special-grade restaurant and a 5A grade Chinese green hotel, and is famous for its unique Beef and Mutton Paomo (steamed bun) with national characteristics.

Tong Sheng Xiang Restaurant Beef and Mutton Paomo is famous for its exquisite ingredients, elaborate workmanship and unique cooking method, which is known as “heavy material and mellow taste, rotten meat and thick soup, smooth steamed bun”. At the early stage of the founding of the People's Republic of China, many national leaders have hosted foreign leaders with this dish in Tong Sheng Xiang.

In 1983, Tong Sheng Xiang Beef and Mutton Paomo was put on the state banquet;

In 1989, Tong Sheng Xiang Beef and Mutton Paomo was awarded “Jin Ding Award” which is the highest prize of national local cuisine in the catering industry;

In 1997, Tong Sheng Xiang Beef and Mutton Paomo and Mutton Cakes were awarded “Chinese Famous Snacks” by the China Cuisine Association;

In 1997, Tong Sheng Xiang Beef and Mutton Paomo and mutton cakes were awarded “Chinese Famous Snacks” title by the China Cuisine Association;

In June 2008, the characteristic style of the dish preparing of Tong Sheng Xiang Beef and Mutton Paomo was included in the national intangible cultural heritage list.
